Module description
Trademarks and Patents is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the law of trademarks and patents, including: the process by which trademarks and patents can be registered; legal requirements for trademark-ability and patentability; and remedies associated with infringement. You will study the law is it relates to domestic protection of trademarks and patents, as well as examples of international or regional systems for adjudication and redress, for example under the European Patent Convention. There will be an opportunity for you to study particular case studies, so that you can critically evaluate the effectiveness of the law in respect of a particular markets, industries or practices.
