Module description
Human Rights Advocacy and Practice is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge required for careers in the dynamic fields of human rights advocacy and social justice. Through simulated projects designed in collaboration with leading human rights organisations, NGOs, and government departments, you will engage in tasks mirroring the day to day work of professionals at institutions such as Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Advocates for International Development, Redress, Freedom from Torture, the Human Rights Lawyers Association, the Bar Human Rights Committee of England & Wales, the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). You will work on projects reflecting real-world tasks, such as drafting reports, devising advocacy strategies, using data to inform human rights projects and programmes, designing impactful social justice campaigns, and influencing and analysing the impact of human rights policies on victims and vulnerable populations both in the UK and globally.
