Module description

This core Arabic language module provides further language training for students on IAIS MA programmes who are working at an advanced level in Arabic. It will continue to develop the core language skills – writing, reading, speaking, listening, grammar and translation – through diverse texts and audio-visual material, including classical and religious texts, literature, film, print and social media, enabling students to gain proficiency in a variety of registers and language types. There will be 8 hours of contact time per week and assessment will be through written assignments, listening exercises, oral presentations and end of term exams (oral, listening, speaking). The module will include classes in Arabic dialect.
