Module description
This module will equip you with advanced computational tools for clinical diagnosis, prosthesis design and optimisation, surgery simulation, and treatment outcome prediction. You will learn image-based computational modelling, advanced finite element simulation, design analysis and optimisation algorithms, and programming for body-implant interactions, all within the context of biomedical engineering applications. Throughout the module, you will engage with a range of clinical cases, including tissue fracture, atrophy, degeneration, and developmental disorders. You will develop skills to identify risk factors, derive assessment criteria for diagnosis and treatment targets, design protocols for surgical and prosthetic development, and predict the short- and long-term efficacy of your solutions.
