Module description
Now that you have a solid general engineering foundation, it is time to add the understanding of relevant aspects of chemistry. This module will cover inorganic, physical and organic chemistry. You will further your knowledge on atomic and molecular structure to bonding and transition metal and main group chemistry, as well as acid-base and redox reactions. You will also learn the principles of chemical thermodynamics and kinetics, equilibria, and how they affect chemical processes, and gain an understanding of concepts around organic molecules and reaction mechanisms. These principles will inform your Chemical Engineering Experimental Design Project and give you the necessary scientific background to understanding chemical engineering principles.
