Bethan le Masurier
BA Ancient History and Archaeology
"As well as bringing us all together, actually seeing archaeology in action, picking Roman coins out of the dirt that no one else has touched for 1700 years, and sharing our findings with members of the public, is one of the best ways to really understand and appreciate the subject."

Zachary Stancombe
BA Archaeology
"The highlight of my time here has to be the people I have met; those I studied with, studied under and met along the way. It is the people who make Exeter such a special place to study, creating a friendly and welcoming environment in which to live and work. I would not have enjoyed my time here nearly as much without them."

Chloe Kemp
BSc Archaeology with Forensic Science
"The highlight of my time at Exeter was receiving my final grade and feeling absolutely elated to know that all of my hard work had paid off! I had enjoyed my course so much, to then receive a Deans Commendation and win the Lady Eileen Fox Prize this was the just the icing on the cake and I couldn’t believe it."

Rebecca Avery
BSc Archaeology with Forensic Science (with proficiency in German)
"One of the highlights of my time at Exeter was going to South Dakota in the summer between first and second year to carry out an archaeological dig as part of my programme. This gave me the unique opportunity to gain experience in American archaeological practices, explore a new country and get to know my coursemates really well. I also found an arrowhead which was pretty exciting!"

Fiona Edwards
BA Classical Studies with Study Abroad
"It’s hard to pick just one example, but for me, the highlight was definitely my final year. I had amazing friends from my course, gotten to know the wonderful lecturers within my department and made the most of the societies available at the university. It was an incredible year and gave me the confidence I’ll need to succeed beyond Exeter."

Kate Moreton
BA Ancient History
"It’s tough to pick one highlight – three years has packed in a lot of memories! A couple of notable highlights have been getting to the BUCS hockey semi-finals in my first year, playing in the annual Touch Duckes rounders tournaments and volunteering in Fiji with a group of Exeter students in the summer of my second year, but more generally the highlight has definitely been the people – it wouldn’t have been the same without the lifelong friends I’ve made here."

William Colman
BA Classics
"What I have enjoyed most would be the opportunity to study a subject about which I am truly passionate alongside like-minded fellow students with whom I have forged friendships that will last a lifetime."

Jae Won (January) Sim
BA Drama
"Having spent my undergraduate life in the multicultural environment at the University of Exeter, I was able to learn how to communicate and live with different people from different cultures. As an ethnic minority from South Korea, I found it difficult to adjust to the British lifestyle in Exeter. However, I have met glorious people from different backgrounds, helping me gain confidence, share invaluable memories and continuously teach each other about what it is like to learn."

Lily Freeman
BA Drama
What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?
"Meeting people who I know will not just be friends with for life, but meeting people with matching creative ideas; people who I will hopefully go on to work with in the arts industry."

Nika Cimperšek Bukinac
BA Drama
"The people I have met have been the highlight of my time here. From the friends I have made, to the incredible people I have worked with in my course, as well as the brilliant staff and lecturers working in the Drama department."

Sarah Sharp
BA Drama with Study Abroad
"One of the major highlights of my time at Exeter has been getting involved with extra-curricular societies. During my degree I have been involved in multiple societies, both through the Guild and through the Athletic Union, including being President of Drama Society, doing multiple shows with Exeter University Theatre Company and Theatre With Teeth, competing nationally with Cheerleading and learning how to sail and kayak."

Zoe Ann Diamond
BA Drama
"One of my most significant highlights was working with Footlights Musical Theatre Society to stage manage their professional level shows at the Exeter Northcott, an experience which has played a significant part in shaping my future. The other most important highlight of my time at Exeter has been the opportunity to develop my love for sport."

Aimee Knight
BA English and Drama with Study Abroad
"The experience of studying abroad for a year was by far the highlight of my time here. The opportunity to live in a new and vibrant city, to engage with students and faculty at a challenging university and to immerse myself in a foreign culture was an immeasurably rewarding experience."

Anna Galasinska
BA English
What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?
"Having the opportunity to learn from such a wide variety of brilliant lecturers in the English department."

Eli Wyatt
BA English and French
"There have been many highlights of my time in Exeter, the opportunity to study abroad, working and studying in a University where there are so many hardworking students and tutors, meeting so many good friends, but if I had to choose a highlight, it would have to be the end result; putting in so much hard work over the course of four years and receiving a mark of which you can be proud of is extremely fulfilling."

Jac Lewis
BA English and Visual Culture
"My third year was certainly the time that made me realise my career was set in higher education when I received the British Association for American Studies’ best undergraduate essay prize, a first class degree, a Dean’s Commendation for Exceptional Performance as well as two Art History and Visual Culture prizes all in the space of three months!"

Libby Gargett
BA English
"One of my favourite memories from the past three years is visiting one of my second year flatmates at home in Poland during the summer holidays – it is unlikely that I would have ever travelled there otherwise, so I feel very fortunate to have had such great opportunities."

Rebecca Young
BA English
"I have enjoyed so much of my time here that it is difficult to pick one thing – but I would probably say that writing my dissertation was one of the most notable highlights of my time studying here. Having the opportunity to pursue a line of inquiry that developed from my research interests, spending long afternoons working alongside friends in the old library discussing our projects, and working one-to-one with a supervisor has been a hugely rewarding experience."

Shaban Mehmood
BA English
"The highlight of my time at Exeter was opting to study a creative writing module, where I wrote a screenplay and was given the opportunity to see my work come to life during a dramatized read-through."

Shereen Lloyd
BA English and French
"The opportunity to study abroad in the French Alps in third year was a remarkable adventure that allowed me to put everything we learned in classes into practice. I also met my now-husband here on our first day of university, so learning together was a pretty big highlight!"

Amy Price
BA English and History with Study Abroad (Penryn Campus)
"Co-organising the ‘Once Upon a Ball’ with the other Tremough English Society committee members. When I first came to university, I hated doing anything that involved public speaking, including managing events. Doing this event with my friends from the society made me realise how far I’ve come. The event itself was really fun too, even if we did say so ourselves!"

Holly Rice
BA History
"I don’t think I could pick just one moment as my highlight of my time at Exeter! I think the environment in Exeter has been really great for me; the programmes offered are stimulating and challenging, yet there is always time to do something that isn’t studying such as sport or music."

Imogen Knox
BA History
"The highlight of my time at Exeter has been meeting so many amazing people, with whom I’ll be friends for life."

Joanna Horsley
BA History with Study Abroad
"It’s very difficult to select a single highlight; I have enjoyed being at Exeter so much. I definitely made the right decision in my choice of university. If I had to pick one highlight, I would say that having the opportunity to learn white water kayaking and to develop such a fantastic group of friends through the Exeter University Canoe Club has been amazing."

Meg O' Mahoney
BA History
"The opportunities I had to travel with societies or classes during my three years in Exeter; either to the National Gallery for an Art History module, to Paris with the History Society, or to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Spotlights Show Choir. Having these experiences with such thoughtful, interesting and inspiring people has really made my university experience special."

Roseanna Keane
BA History (Penryn Campus)
"I think the highlight of my experience was moving to Falmouth in the third year, because it is such a magical place to be! There town centre and the beach are a short walk away, and the pubs are very quirky, including cocktail bars and live music venues."

Tom Banks
BA Liberal Arts with English
"For me, the highlight has been the people. From the friendships you build, to the variety of lecturers you get to meet, the course-mates you hang out with, there’s such a diversity of people in a university environment, and it’s great to be encouraged by others who are as motivated as you."

Luanna de Abreu Coelho
BA History and Spanish
"Without a doubt, my year abroad was the most enriching and fun experience I had at Exeter. I was lucky enough to be able to spend a year in Barcelona, and with the support of the university I was able to find the job that suited me and to make the most of my time there. My year abroad helped me improve my Spanish, but most importantly, it helped me grow as a person."

Naomi Hodges
BA Modern Languages (Italian and Spanish)
"A great point about the University of Exeter is the amazing support network provided by staff and students alike. I have always been able to get help when I have needed it, be it in or out of office hours and this definitely made a difference to my overall grade. Some of my teachers really went above and beyond what I would have expected to help me, and I am very grateful for that."

Christina Forkan
BA English and Film Studies
"There are many highlights from my time at Exeter! One of them would be writing my dissertation on Stranger Things and Steven Spielberg. Another highlight is that Exeter allowed me the opportunity to study abroad in America at Montana State University where I joined a sorority and skied or hiked during the weekends!"

Kate Arthur
BA History and Visual Culture
What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?
"The art history visual culture field trip to Florence in second year, as had great fun exploring the city with course friends and lecturers whilst completing a group and independent research project."

Ben Holton
BA Theology and Religion with Proficiency in Biblical Languages
"Both the friends I’ve made and the course itself have been fantastic, and I’ve really loved my time here. It’s difficult to pick a specific highlight to be honest."
