The Club will be meeting at the Streatham Campus on Saturday 1st October 2016 for an afternoon featuring the LLM Club AGM, a workshop by European Conumber Law expect Dr Joasia Luzak (Associate Professor in Law and Director of the Centre for European Legal Studies), and this will be followed by an optional dinner to celebrate Exeter's Diamond Jubilee.
Description of the workshop:
In December 2015 the European Commission published two legislative proposals aimed at harmonising the rules on two aspect of digital economies: sales of goods and provision of so-called digital content. During the workshop, Dr Luzak will introduce you to their innovative scope, but also indicate their weak points. There will be space to discuss potential implications for national laws of this intended harmonisation, as well as to consider what protection British online consumers may miss out on due to Brexit. Special notice will also be given to the issue of sharing economy, which the European legislator has so far not included in its proposals.

16:00 - 17:30: Workshop on the Digital Single Market led by European Consumer Law expert Dr Joasia Luzak (Associate Professor in Law and Director of the Centre for European Legal Studies). Location: Matrix Lecture Theatre, Building:One, Streatham Campus, Exeter
18:00 - 20:00: LLM Club Diamond Jubilee celebration dinner (optional). Location: Harry's Restaurant, 86 Longbrook St, Exeter. Cost: £20 per person for 2 courses or £25 per person for 3 courses (vegetarian and gluten-free options available).
