Skills for engagement: Evidence capture – a case study

Led by Dr Inmaculada Adarves-Yorno

Event details

Who should attend this event?

All researchers are welcome to attend this open session which is part of the Impact and Engaged Research Network.

What is the session about?

Dr Inma Adarves-Yorno (Business School) will present a case study reflecting honestly on mistakes made and lessons learned in capturing evidence about the impact of her mindfulness work in African prisons.

Dr Adarves-Yorno is working with the Kenyan Prison Services and the African Prisons Project (APP) to create a unique rehabilitation programme. Inmates, some of whom have been given death sentences, are using a series of self-awareness and mindfulness techniques to help them become more emotionally resilient.

Prisoners have told Dr Adarves-Yorno the training has changed their life, and they will help mentor and educate others. But evidencing the change is a challenging process – come along to hear how Inma has risen to it, and what she has learned along the way.
