What is the event about?
Dr Jenni Chambers, Head of RCUK (Research Councils UK) Public Engagement with Research, will be giving a presentation titled 'Contextualising Public Engagement with Research' which will focus on the future for Engaged Research.
Information:
Over the past decade RCUK, and other UK research funders, have undertaken a series of interventions, including the establishment of the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement, the Beacons for Public Engagement, RCUK Catalysts, RCUK Catalyst Seed Fund projects and the Concordat for Engaging the Public with Research, all seeking to aid universities in recognising, rewarding and embedding public engagement with research.
The talk will outline the following:
- The impact of the above interventions
- What we have learnt along the way
- A speculative look to the future for public engagement with research
Who should attend?
This event is open to all University of Exeter academic (including PGR) and Professional Services staff (research managers, administrators, project officers, events managers, etc.) who are interested in funding from Research Councils.
