Nuffield Farming Lecture 2018

Changing Food Cultures: challenges and opportunities for UK Agriculture

Professor Michael Winter OBE will be presenting the findings of his recent Nuffield-sponsored research on changing food cultures.

Event details

Drawing on research he conducted in the UK, Denmark and Canada throughout 2017 and 2018, he will examine the changing world of food consumption and diet -  how cultures and practices combine to alter patterns of consumption. He will pay particular attention to how health concerns are likely to impact on future demand for food. He will consider what all this will mean to UK farmers in the future and whether the industry is well placed to respond to the opportunities and challenges of changing food cultures.

After the Lecture there will be an Open Forum chaired by Professor Sir Charles Godfray CBE FRS.

Please note that the number of seats is strictly limited and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please email the Nuffield Farming Office (office@nuffieldscholar.org) to book your ticket.
