How to apply
Other acceptable English language tests
For all postgraduate programmes (including research degrees) which require an English score equivalent to IELTS 6 or 6.5, the following alternative test scores are accepted without pre-sessional language tuition:
- GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) English Language Grade C or better
- IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) English as a second language with a grade C or better
- International Baccalaureate Standard English Grade 5 or Higher Level Grade 4 or above
- CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English) and CAE (Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English) Grade C or better (Grade B required for programmes which require IELTS 7)
- Hong Kong Examinations Authority Advanced Use of English Grade C or better
- English paper at Indian Standard XII level 65% or above from the ISC/CBSE/West Bengal Board; 70% or above for the Maharastra Board; 75% for the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Boards
- West African Exams Council Senior School Certificate Exam Grade C6 or better
- Zambian School Certificate Examination English Language Grade A1
