About the award

The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF) award competition opens on 20 January 2020.  Submissions are invited from Canadian students who are pursuing full-time, multi-year postgraduate programmes in any field of study in the United Kingdom.  Up to 18 awards of £5,000 may be given by the Trustees, including The Belle Shankman award for the Study of Arts. 

The CCSF celebrated its 50th year in 2017 and is proud to have awarded, since 1967, around £1 million to over 500 talented Canadians studying mulitple disciplines from science (including health research), engineering, social science and humanities to music, creative art and design.

Entry requirements

To qualify for a CCSF award, an applicant must:

  • be a Canadian citizen;
  • be currenty enrolled full-time in a multi-year postgraduate programme and, at the time of application, be attending a UK University or similar institution and have completed at least one full term of study;
  • be able to demonstrate academic excellence; and
  • require funds to complete their studies.

(Your studies must continue into the 2020/21 academic year so 12 month Postgraduate Taught courses commencing in Setember 2019 are not eligible.)

The deadline for applications is Sunday 8 March 2020 at midnight.  

Face-to-face interviews for shortlisted candidiates will be held in a central London location on 22 May 2020.  Students must make themselves available in person for interview to be eligible.  Attendance at interview does not guarantee an award.
