Polymetal Women in Mining Scholarship

About the award

Polymetal are delighted to offer an exceptional female student on a mining-related course a package of support including:

  • £6,000 to support their studies
  • an opportunity to work with Polymetal for their dissertation project
  • an internship upon graduation to gain experience in the field

The scholarship will be awarded at the panel’s discretion to the applicant considered most deserving of the award.

Please note that the scholarship can only be awarded to a female student who has gained an offer of a place to study Mining or Geology at the University of Exeter; a full list of eligible programmes are as follows:

MSc Mining Engineering
MSc Mining Environmental Management
MSc Applied Geotechnics
MSc Minerals Processing
MSc Mining Geology
MSc Exploration Geology
MSc Geotechnical Engineering

Entry requirements

A proficiency in Russian or a willingness to learn Russian will be an advantage during the recruitment process. (at least basic Russian will be very important to get full benefit from the internship).

How to apply

Applicants are asked to provide a 500 word statement outlining how this scholarship would help them pursue their studies and career, and encourage other female students into the mining sector.  In the event of statements of similar quality, preference may be given to applications for courses with the lowest proportion of female applicants.
