This programme allows you to study and understand the contribution that philosophy can make to older and newer political and economic questions. You will be able to reflect on the role that philosophical notions such as ‘rationality’, ‘values’ and ‘norms’ play in other disciplines interested in the structure and functioning of human societies. You will also learn how to assess current politico-economical debates in light of the history of thought.
The core modules introduce you to the central problems and methods of philosophical inquiry in combination with modules that build up specialisation in political philosophy, political theory and normative economics.
