UKRI New open access policy

UKRI new open access policy applies to articles submitted after 1st April 2022 and long form outputs (monographs, book chapters, edited collections) published on or after 1st January 2024. Find full details on the funder policies page or UKRI website.

We are running monthly online information sessions about new open access requirements for UKRI-funded long form outputs, details below. These sessions are open to all researchers and professional services staff at the University of Exeter. If you cannot attend one of the sessions below, watch a recording.

GW4 Open Research week, 20-24 November 2023

The GW4 Alliance, an alliance of four of the UK’s most research-intensive and innovative universities: BathBristol, Cardiff and Exeter, is hosting the inaugural GW4 Open Research Week for 2023.

The week will take place from 20th - 24th November 2023, and focuses on the theme of the Theory of Change, showcasing a broad range of open research practices which make research more accessible, transparent, reproducible and visible. Read the programme of events open to University of Exeter and register online: GW4 Open Research week.

New staff induction

The sessions below will cover: what is open access, how to make work open access, using Symplectic to upload to the institutional repository ORE, accessing funding to publish open access, REF, University and funder open access policies. These sessions will be delivered online and are open to all Staff, including both new and current.
