About this course:

Research Networks are an essential part of research communities and how to build and develop a research network is a key skill in a researcher's professional development.

This interactive session will explore the core functions of strong research networks for both individual researchers and those wanting to build and develop an engaged research community.

We will explore the skills, strategies, and techniques used to build effective research networks and how these can contribute to knowledge exchange, tackling complex research problems, and building inclusive research cultures.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - Understand the role of professional connections and research networks in accelerating research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- Understand what defines a strong research network.

- Mapped your existing professional network and identified gaps.

- Identify techniques to help in building your own network.

This session is delivered by Dr Megan Maunder.

Megan is the Strategic Initiatives Manager for Research Services.

She leads the Research Networks team and manages the Complex Initiatives Fund.

Megan is passionate about facilitating innovative and transformative research across disciplines and building inclusive research environments.
