Summary checklist
Advisory
The information on this page is only applicable if you're editing the University webpages using T4. It presumes that you have already completed the beginners and advanced level of the T4 training (a link for staff only - opens in new window).
This checklist is designed to be used for quick reference after you have read the contents of Naming a webpage through once.
H1 headings
- All of our T4 pages must have an h1 heading template added to them when they are constructed.
- That template must only be added to your page once.
- Never use the Header 1 option from T4's formatting menu in the editing ribbon.
Section names
- Whatever text you use as a section name will be used as link text in the navigation, unless you override it by creating a hidden page that's linked to via one or more link sections.
- Whatever text you use as a section name will be used as the final segment of the page's web address, unless you override it with an Output URI.
- If the section name is more than one word long, an Output URI is recommended.
- If you change the section name after the page has published, and it doesn't have an output URI, this will change the web address of the page and any subpages it has.
Output URIs
- Output URIs should be in lowercase, with no spaces, and with words separated by hyphens, not underscores.
- Avoid changing an output URI after the page has published, as this will change the page's web address, as well as the web addresses of any subpages that it has.
