Medical help
- Call 999 for an ambulance in an emergency or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency (A&E)
- Contact the Devon and Cornwall Sexual Assault Referral Centre's (SARC) helpline 0300 303 4626. This number covers all centres across Devon and Cornwall. SARCs provide support, information and forensic medical facilities and examination for people who have experienced any form of sexual assault.
If you are not at further risk
- Find somewhere safe and warm as you may be in shock. If you can, phone a friend to come to you. If you don't want to call a friend, you can contact the following helplines:

- Samaritans can be contacted 24 hours a day. You can reach the national number by calling 116 123.
Your Campus Security team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They’re available as a point of contact for welfare-related issues outside normal working hours for students.

- Exeter students: On Exeter campuses you can contact Estate Patrol on 01392 723999 or in an emergency on 01392 722222.
- Penryn students: On Penryn campus you contact the Campus Safety and Support team on 01326 255 875 or in an emergency (or if you need First Aid) call 01326 254 444.
- It may be difficult but try not to drink, eat, wash, smoke, brush your teeth, urinate or change your clothes. This is vital as if you do any of these, the evidence may be lost. You can get evidence recorded at the Devon and Cornwall Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) while you decide if you'd like to report or not.
- Keep any used condom or bedding in a clean plastic bag as it will help preserve the evidence.
