A location like no other
Our welcoming and inclusive campuses are set within the stunning natural scenery of Devon and Cornwall, which are amongst the safest places in live in England and Wales (Office for National Statistics, 2024). Based in Exeter, we have our Streatham Campus and St Luke’s Campus and in Cornwall, we have the Penryn Campus.
Beyond our vibrant cities and towns, we are surrounded by national parks, beaches, nature reserves and heritage sites, with an exciting year-round cultural scene. Explore many of Devon and Cornwall’s historical towns with bustling cafes and quirky independent shops, with great transport links to bigger cities like Bristol and London.
Our University accommodation gives you the opportunity to meet people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures who are on a variety of degree programmes, especially our accommodation in Penryn, where you will be sharing with Falmouth University students.

“I feel so at home at Exeter and really love living here. It’s the perfect size and not so big you can’t find other students but not so small that there’s nothing going on. There’s always things to do and it’s easy to have a good time. I also love the location as it’s close to Bristol and London really easy to get to by train. You can also drive out and be in countryside or go to the beach and surf. I love it and I’ve never lived so close to the beach before - it’s only 30 mins on the train.”

“Exeter is a brilliant city. The campus is a perfect distance that you’re not in the middle of the city centre for it to be too busy, nor is it too far away for it to be in the middle of nowhere.
Exeter has countless number of activities for you to do whilst you’re here such as indoor pools, outdoor pools, cinemas, a town centre full of amazing shops and restaurants and a wonderful quay that is a must on a summer's day! Exeter is also very close to awesome beaches such as Exmouth or Dawlish and is close to big cities such as Bristol or more residential areas such as Salcombe or Cornwall.”

“You can ask the Career Zone for advice for what to do in your future and they will help you come up with a roadmap and what are some of the steps you can take to benefit your future. They also help you think about combining your interests with your degree and how this can relate to possible career paths that you can take with your degree and skillset.
The Career Zone can also help you get a placement, internships and graduate jobs by helping you with your CV or setting up a mock interview to practise your interview skills.”

“My background isn’t in marine science, so it was initially daunting starting the course and feeling like I may not be able to keep up, however, I’ve found most of the course materials to be accessible and clearly taught. Both my peers and professors have been very supportive and when I’ve emailed my professors with questions, they’ve never made me feel like I’m asking a stupid question.
At 35 I’m also a mature student and older than a lot of my peers on the course, but I’ve never been made to feel like an outsider or the older one.”

“I’ve spent most of my life in South East of England, so one of my favourite things about the course was living in Exeter. I love my running, so getting some runs on Dartmoor in, was an awesome experience.
I think my favourite thing was having a really good quality course that was structured in a way that both challenged you but also where you felt supported. For example, my mentors tested me on my lessons and asked me questions on them. It was better to be embarrassed then instead of in front of 25 kids!”
