Key dates for prospective students

There are a number of things required during the accommodation application process and our key dates will advise you on what is required throughout the year. These include application open dates, our guarantee deadline, offer holder visit days and open days. Check the dates below to ensure you never forget an important deadline.

  • Sunday 14 January 2018 contracts start for semester two part year Study Abroad/Erasmus students.

  • Begin to look at our 'how to choose' pages and begin to consider what type of accommodation you would like and what budget you are working towards.

  • The Accommodation Blog and our Accommodation Facebook page will provide you with information about the housing options available to you whilst you are studying at the University of Exeter. New blog posts for prospective students are available from 10:00am every Tuesday.
  • Our Offer Holder Visit Days take place throughout February and March on either a Wednesday or a Saturday. At these events you are able to take part in an accommodation tour which shows a sample of our self-catered and catered residences, attend an accommodation presentation and also visit our accommodation stand if you have any queries or questions.

  • The Accommodation Blog and our Accommodation Facebook page will provide you with information about the housing options available to you whilst at the University of Exeter. New blog posts for prospective students are available from 10:00am every Tuesday.
  • Read our accommodation guarantee in order to familiarise yourself with the application process and to see which students are guaranteed accommodation.

  • Find out more about our accommodation and what the rooms are available by visiting the self-catered and the catered residence pages.

  • Take a look at the self-catered and the catered price list in order to work out a budget for your accommodation.

  • Our Offer Holder Visit Days take place throughout February and March on either Wednesdays or Saturdays.   • Read our Accommodation Blog and join our Facebook page to receive updates.
  • When making an application students are required to enter their top four preferences of residence. Please note that these are preferences only and applicants are not guaranteed one of their top choices. Find out more about how we allocate rooms for further information.

  • On Monday 10 April 2017 from 10:00am the online accommodation applications open for new students joining us in September 2017. Please ensure that you submit your application, if you save it then the accommodation office will not see it. Please see our 'how to activate an accommodation account' and 'how to submit an accommodation application' videos for a step by step guide on the process.

  • Undergraduate students who have already received their A-Level results and have deferred their entry for this academic year can submit an application in mid-April and if you apply before the end of May they will receive their offer in June.

  • Our last Offer Holder Visit Day takes place on Friday 28 April 2017. At these events you are able to take part in an accommodation tour which shows a sample of our self-catered and catered residences, attend an accommodation presentation and also visit our accommodation stand if you have any queries or questions.
  • Students with an unconditional offer for 2017/18 are advised to make an early accommodation application as formal offers will be sent in June.
  • Students with an unconditional offer are encouraged to apply for accommodation by June 2017. Once your application is submitted, please check your emails for information about your offer of accommodation for 2017/18.

  • Students who have an unconditional offer at the University of Exeter and have submitted an application will be sent offers throughout June, July, August and September. Please note that there is an expiry date of 3-5 days for an offer to be accepted. An accommodation deposit of £300.00 needs to be paid upon accepting your offer.   • University of Exeter Open Days are taking place this month on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 June 2017. During this event, you are able to partake in an accommodation tour which shows a sample of our self-catered and catered residences and also visit our accommodation stand if you have any queries or questions.

  • Students wishing to apply for families and couples accommodation are advised to apply before 30 June 2017.

  • Undergraduate students who have met their conditions of study and made an early application should receive a formal offer of accommodation (e.g. deferred students from the previous year).

  • The Accommodation Guarantee Deadline is 31 July and students who meet the guarantee criteria are advised to submit an online application for accommodation by this date to be guaranteed accommodation for the 2017/18 academic year.

  • Students who have an unconditional offer at the University of Exeter and have submitted an application will be sent offers throughout June, July, August and September. Please note that there is an expiry date of 3-5 days for an offer to be accepted. An accommodation deposit of £300.00 needs to be paid upon accepting your offer.   • If you have accepted an offer of accommodation then details about our eInduction and arrivals will be sent to you this month.
  • The Accommodation Guarantee is no longer available and from 1 August, applications received will be dealt with in date order.

  • The online accommodation eInduction becomes available for students who have accepted an accommodation offer. The date for this is to be confirmed. View our 'how to complete the online eInduction' for further information.

  • Online arrivals registration opens for arrival during Freshers' week. Further information will be emailed to you once you have accepted an offer of accommodation. The date for this is to be confirmed. View our 'how to book an arrival slot' video for further information.

  • For those students who applied within our Accommodation Guarantee then offers will be sent out the week after A-Level results are issued on 17 August 2017. Students who applied after our Guarantee Deadline will find out if they have been successful from 29 August 2017.

  • Students who are applying for accommodation through Insurance or Clearing are advised to apply for university accommodation as soon as they have a firm offer with the University of Exeter or alternatively to look at private housing within the city.

  • A Housing Event will take place for those students who have come through Insurance/Clearing or who applied after our Guarantee and have been unsuccessful in receiving an offer of University accommodation. An email notification will be sent to those students.

  • Please note that there is an expiry date of 3 days for an offer to be accepted. An accommodation deposit of £300.00 needs to be paid upon accepting your offer.

  • Room numbers for accommodation are not issued until students have registered with the University of Exeter in September.

  • Read our moving in pages for information about what to bring with you in preparation for Arrival's Weekend.

  • Our Accommodation Call Centre is put in place to help answer any queries that you may have about accommodation.

  • Like our Accommodation Facebook page and check in with our Accommodation Blog which runs daily from A-Level results day on Thursday 17 August 2017 until 15 September 2017 and will answer any questions that you may have about your offer, arrivals or the University of Exeter.
  • Students who have an unconditional offer at the University of Exeter and have submitted an application will be sent offers throughout September. Please note that there is an expiry date of 3-5 days for an offer to be accepted. An accommodation deposit of £300.00 needs to be paid upon accepting your offer.

  • Students who are applying for accommodation through Insurance or Clearing are advised to apply for university accommodation as soon as they have a firm offer with the University of Exeter or alternatively to look at private housing within the city.

  • A Housing Event will take place for those students who have come through Insurance/Clearing or who applied after our Guarantee and have been unsuccessful in receiving an offer of University accommodation. An email notification will be sent to those students.

  • Students will not receive their room numbers until they complete their University of Exeter online registration during September. Please note that the room numbers given are only provisional and students will receive confirmation of their room number during Arrival's Weekend.

  • Our Accommodation Call Centre is put in place to help answer any queries that you may have about accommodation.

  • Arrival's Weekend is 15-17 September 2017*, please make sure that you have booked your accommodation arrival slot in preparation prior to your arrival. If you are going to be arriving later than the Arrival's Weekend, please notify the Accommodation Office. Details will be available about this within our Accommodation Blog.
