How to apply
Pre-sessional English courses
Pre-sessional courses offer intensive tuition over five or ten weeks. They are run by the INTO University of Exeter Centre on our Streatham Campus and, if required, can improve your English ability and study skills before the start of your degree programme.
The tables on the INTO website show if you will need to attend a pre-sessional course based on your TOEFL/IELTS test scores. If you have taken any other acceptable test and wish to confirm if a pre-sessional English course is required or recommended, please contact us.
If you undertake a pre-sessional course at INTO University of Exeter you may be permitted to start your formal programme of study without retaking an IELTS or TOEFL test, depending on your language ability at entry and your progress on the course. Please note that we do not accept pre-sessional courses accepted by other bodies.
If you do not meet the pre-sessional entry requirements or want to have longer to understand and learn new skills, the Centre also offers an English for Postgraduate Study course and Graduate Diplomas in the areas of Law, Management, Finance and Public Administration. The Graduate Diploma includes a greater focus on study skills alongside language tuition and can be used as an academic or English language ‘top-up’ prior to Masters study in the relevant field.
