The Company Portal is installed on Windows PC’s as standard and is managed directly by the University of Exeter. It is a direct replacement for the previous Software Centre.
As well as offering software, you can also find the name of your device together with any other devices you’ve been associated with. This will be needed if you're requesting individually licenced software to be installed onto the device(s) you’re using.
Alternatively, if you’re using a personal device, a range of software for MacOS and Windows PCs is available via the Home Software Hub.
How to use the Company Portal
You can find the Company Portal by searching for "company" in your Windows Start Menu
Once you have loaded the Company Portal, select the Apps section on the left to see a list of all the software available to you. Click the icon of the package you would like to install.
Click the 'Install' button to install it.
You can check the progress of the installation, and see which previous applications you've already installed in the 'Downloads & updates' section on the left-hand menu
If you wish to reinstall an application, open up the Company Portal, select ‘Downloads & updates’ and select the application. The previous 'Install' button will now be an 'Reinstall' button
If you cannot find the Company Portal on your workstation, please log a request to the IT service desk.
How to find your Computer Name
Click on the 'Devices' tab within the Company Portal and the Computer name for the current device is listed at the top of the screen labelled ‘THIS DEVICE’.
