Global Incidents

Global Incidents

From time to time we know that international incidents, such and natural disasters, conflict and political unrest, can cause concern and distress for our community, especially those who are in, or who have loved ones, in affected regions.

We have support available for colleagues and students, and you can find details below. Please don't hesitate to reach out when you need help.

Middle East

We have all been watching recent events in the Middle East closely, with growing concern for those who may be directly impacted by the ongoing situation. We understand that this may be a particularly difficult and uncertain time for colleagues with loved ones in the region.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has detailed advice for those currently in, or planning travel to, the Middle East. Additionally, they are advising that British nationals in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar and United Arab Emirates can register their presence to receive direct updates from the FCDO.

You can find all the latest travel advice here: Foreign Office travel advice updates - GOV.UK.
