Carer Support funding
Aim
The overall aim of this fund is to support academic staff with caring responsibilities whose career development has been adversely affected as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The support includes funds towards 1) training and courses for career development 2) travel and accommodation directly linked to the attendance of workshops and events 3) expenses related to care support.
Awards will be made based on the applicant's level of need up to a maximum of £700 per award, with a maximum of 20 awards available.
Note that all successful applicants must spend their funding by 31 Dec 2022.
Eligibility
1) Your research must sit within the Wellcome Trust funding strategies and remits:
Biomedical science
Population health
Product development and applied research
Humanities and social science
Public engagement and creative industries

2) You have caring responsibilities for a child (children) or other adult(s)

By completing the application form, you give us consent to collect and store your personal data for evaluation purposes. Your personal data will be stored securely with access limited to specified University of Exeter staff involved in processing your application or managing the application process, unless you have given your consent to share information with a third party. Your personal data will be stored in accordance with the University's Data Protection Policy. In addition, we will use your anonymised data to monitor and evaluate the take up, efficacy and impact of the fund. These findings may be externally reported, for example, to meet regulatory requirements of our funder, Wellcome Trust.
Reporting requirement
The successful applicants will be contacted by TREE Project Manager in due course for a report briefing how the fund has been used and what improvements they have made in their professional development by using this award.
