“Before you even start at Exeter, you will be able to let the University know if and how to support you academically and in your accommodation. From requesting ILPs to acquiring funded support, the University is here to help with whatever support you might need. Exeter also provides a service called AccessAble, which offer advice and assistance to students with disabilities and health conditions in order to get the most out of their time studying here.”

The team there is super approachable and really committed to helping you succeed not just academically, but in all aspects of your health. If things ever get too much, the Wellbeing Centre is the place to go. Plus, they offer a 24/7 support line during term time, so you’re only ever a phone call away from help!”

“I don’t know many people who absolutely love change. That’s why I’m going to talk about some ways to manage change in university life. Exeter offers excellent wellbeing services if you are ever struggling to adjust. Wellbeing check-ins are really easy to book online via the Student Information Desk (SID) which is followed up with whatever you need according to what you are struggling with whether it is CBT, talk therapy, or counselling, someone is there for you and you do not have to go through anything alone.”

“As someone who has struggled with anxiety for the past five years of my life, my mental health and wellbeing even came before my choice of course in the order of importance to me when looking for a university. I could not think of a less stress inducing place of the country to be than Cornwall. The campus alone with the greenery meant I had a safe space I could escape to whenever I wanted- The Walled Garden especially is my favourite place to go and read a book or get some studying done.
Although I have never personally used the campus mental health support team, at the beginning of term last year, every single lecturer absolutely hammered it into us where to go to find support and help, they are very aware everyone is away from home for the first time and there is so much available out there if you go looking.”
