Module description
This module will provide you will the knowledge to manage the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver and support new and emerging digital services and products to meet the digital workplace needs of a business. You will learn how to perform horizon scanning to apply foresight processes to identify and select new digital technologies that improve digital workplace efficiency, taking into account the ethical implications of new technologies. On a practical level, you will learn how to develop business case proposals for new technology and to contribute to improved business performance through reducing overall financial costs and increasing sustainability.
This module is a part of MSc Digital and Technology Solutions ((Integrated Degree Apprenticeship) programme. It cannot be taken as an elective by students on other programmes.

Module aims - intentions of the module
The module aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to develop strategies for the management and deployment of new and emerging technologies, tools and techniques which deliver business value. You will be secure in how to conduct digital technology foresight planning to identify and select new digital technology capabilities to optimise the digital workplace. By the end of the module, you will understand the need for reviewing, evaluating, selecting and testing digital technologies focused on digital workplace transformation. You will be able to develop strategies and digital business case proposals for your own organisation that provide return on investment but that also respond to the ethical implications of new technologies.

- 3. Explain how to implement digital solutions that improve access to services, which reduce administration costs and improve communications for stakeholders.
- 4. Analyse the stages through which digital services are created from discovery, through to live and how those services can be maintained and managed over time.

Re-assessment notes
Deferral – if you have been deferred for any assessment you will be expected to submit the relevant assessment. The mark given for a re-assessment taken as a result of deferral will not be capped and will be treated as it would be if it were your first attempt at the assessment.
Referral – if you have failed the module overall (i.e. a final overall module mark of less than 50%) you will be expected to submit the relevant assessment. The mark given for a re-assessment taken as a result of referral will be capped at 50%.
