Module description

??This module explores the theory and practice of leadership in the context of organisational change and transformation. It examines key leadership styles, behaviours, and competencies required to drive innovation, improve performance, and foster a resilient organisational culture. Students will analyse the dynamics of organisational change, including strategic, structural, and cultural factors, and learn frameworks and tools for managing complex transformation processes. The module combines theoretical insights with practical case studies, encouraging students to critically evaluate leadership approaches and develop the skills to lead and influence effectively in dynamic organisational environments.

Module aims - intentions of the module

The aim of this module is to develop students’ understanding of leadership principles and their application in driving organisational transformation. It seeks to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and frameworks necessary to manage change, inspire teams, and foster innovation and adaptability in organisations. The module also aims to enhance critical thinking, reflective practice, and strategic decision-making, enabling students to become effective leaders capable of influencing both people and processes in a complex and evolving business landscape.

Re-assessment notes

Deferral – if you have been deferred for any assessment you will be expected to submit the relevant assessment. The mark given for a re-assessment taken as a result of deferral will not be capped and will be treated as it would be if it were your first attempt at the assessment. 

Referral – if you have failed the module overall (i.e. a final overall module mark of less than 40%) you will be expected to submit the relevant assessment. The mark given for a re-assessment taken as a result of referral will be capped at 40%
