2. Description of the Programme
Innovation’ as a specialism applies as much to small operations in the private sector as it does to large organisations operating within the public sector.
The ability to manage the innovation process - from the conception of an initial idea to the implementation of a new product, service, or operational change - is a crucial additional skillset which is valued, and increasingly sought out, by employers.
Taking innovation modules as part of your degree will mean you graduate with competency and skill in managing innovation. This will stand you in good stead when entering the job market, or if you aspire to start your own business: giving you the practical skills to take an idea from prototype to reality.
If you achieve 60 credits of modules taken from approved lists, you may have the words ‘with Proficiency in Innovation’ added to your degree title when you graduate, to help signpost your knowledge to potential employers.

Each academic programme in the University is subject to an agreed College assessment and marking strategy, underpinned by institution-wide assessment procedures.
