Our offer process
Once the interviews are complete, the panel will select a preferred candidate and issue either an unconditional or conditional offer of employment. A conditional offer would be issued when employment checks are outstanding; for example, satisfactory references.
We will ask you to accept the offer by signing the offer letter through our Onboarding portal. If you are relocating from another country, we will consider visa options prior to confirming an offer. If visa sponsorship is possible, we will start the process of requesting a certificate of sponsorship on your behalf, although you may still need to obtain a Visa or other permit to remain in the UK. Please see our International Staff pages for more information.
You will be asked to complete a new starter health questionnaire. This is an opportunity for colleagues and their managers to receive support and advice from the Occupational Health Service, and your responses will only be accessible to the University’s Occupational Health team. Information disclosed will be held confidentially.
If you have a remote or hybrid-working contract, please ensure you have read our guidance on home working and speak to your line manager if you have any questions or concerns.
Relocation allowance is on a case-by-case basis and completely depends on individual circumstances. However, as a general rule, you must be paid on a grade E or above and you must live more than 1 hour away from the University work location specified in your contract. For more in-depth information on what is involved and eligibility see our relocation assistance scheme webpage.
