Event details
In partnership with Exeter UNESCO City of Literature, the Department of Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies (LCVS) is hosting a series of events from Monday 10th – Thursday 13th July exploring the varied ways in which languages and cultures are translated.
These events are open to the public, and include a 3-day long symposium, a Comedy Workshop for Climate Action hosted by Charlie George and Dr Ina Linge, a pub quiz and many more exciting talks and workshops.
The symposium will take place in the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies and Monday 10th - Wednesday 12th July and will feature a presentation from Dr Cathy McAteer (Wednesday 12th). Cathy will be speaking with Aliaksandra Dvaretskaya and Alena Makouskaya about her project, #FreeAllWords. We are pleased to say this project was funded by SCI, and we urge you to go along to the Translating Cultures event to hear more about it, as well as all the other interesting and innovative research undertaken by the University and LCVS.
If you wish to attend the symposium, please contact Professor Hugh Roberts (h.g.a.roberts@exeter.ac.uk).
