Presented by the University of Exeter Business School Research Methods Centre & Co-Directors of Research Ethics.

This workshop provides PGR students with an overview of the research ethics application and discusses integral parts as well as common pitfalls.

What are research ethics, who needs to apply for ethical approval, and when? · Accessing existing (secondary) data: o Criteria for when you do not need to apply · Collecting primary data: o Applications covered by the business school § Standard primary data collection guidance o Applications outside the scope of the business school (e.g. health etc.) · If someone else is collecting primary data: o Data collection that is approved and conducted at another university. o Data sharing agreements with partners.
