Here is a sample of projects our members are involved in:

Bladen Legacy: exploring 12,000 years of coupled human – environment interactions in the tropical forests of the Bladen Nature Reserve, Belize. Led by Prof Mark Robinson (Archaeology and History).

Latin American Seasonally Dry Tropical Forest Floristic Network (DRYFLOR): a network of researchers and conservationists aiming to improve the understanding of the flora and to promote the conservation of the endangered seasonally dry tropical forests (SDTF) of Latin America. Led by Prof Toby Pennington (Geography).

Mangrove Ecosystem Services under Pressure: the History and Future of Carbon Sequestration Hotspots: This project aims to understand how mangrove forests store carbon and how sea level rise and human activities affect it, using fieldwork in Colombian mangroves and computer modeling to support sustainable management and climate resilience. Co-investigated by Dr Dunia Urrego (Geography).

Venezuelan Voices in the World: bringing together various projects to share, translate and research Venezuelan literature. Led by Prof Katie Brown (Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies).
