How to find us
The Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre is located at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUH) Hospital (Wonford) sitting just behind the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building.
By car
The M4/M5 links Exeter directly to London, the Midlands, South Wales and the North including Scotland. The average journey time from either London or the Midlands is approximately 3 hours.
From the M5: Exit at Junction 29 and follow the B3183 towards Exeter city centre, picking up signs for the RD&E Hospital (Wonford).
From the A30: Exit the A30 at Alphington and take the A377 towards the city centre. At Exe Bridges roundabout, take the fourth exit onto Western Way for the A3015. Turn left on to Barrack Road and right onto the RD&E Hospital site.
From the A377: Take the A377 towards the city centre. At Exe Bridges roundabout, take the second exit onto Western Way for the A3015. Turn left on to Barrack Road and right onto the RD&E Hospital (Wonford) site.
The RD&E Hospital is clearly signposted along routes across the city.

Park & Ride
There is a Park & Ride site located at Sowton (EX2 5GL). The Park & Ride service operates daily with a frequency of every 10 minutes during peak hours, and every 15 or 30 minutes off-peak. The PR3 service is direct to the RD&E Hospital (Wonford) and the nearest drop off and pick up point is opposite the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building.
Bus and Rail
By bus
From Exeter city centre, take the H bus towards Digby and Sowton to reach the RD&E Hospital. In addition, buses from Exmouth (57), Dawlish (2), Torbay (X46), Teignmouth (2) and Plymouth (X38) stop next to the hospital on Barrack Road.
By rail
The RD&E Hospital (Wonford) is approximately two and a half miles from Exeter St David’s Railway Station and two miles from Exeter Central Railway Station. From Exeter St David’s, and Exeter Central, take the H bus service towards Digby and Sowton.
Car parking
There are no car parking spaces at the MGNC. The nearest hospital car parks are car parks A&C. There is also pay and display parking on Barrack Road or Church Lane near the road entrance to the MGNC.
All hospital car parks are monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR), which captures vehicle registration on entry. Users can pay for time used at the end of their visit.
There are 2 Blue Badge holder spaces in car park F outside the McLeod Diabetes Centre, next to the MGNC. To use these spaces, the Blue Badge must be registered with the Diabetes Centre reception.
There are Blue Badge spaces in Car Park C (adjacent to the Oncology department) and Pay and Display car parks can be used free of charge, providing the badge is clearly displayed.
