About this course:

If your role is involved with any aspect of VAT this course will cover the basics, both in general terms and more specifically how it is accounted for and implications for the University.

It will also cover any VAT charity reliefs available.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Explain the different rates of VAT and their meanings.

- Understand VAT for sales and purchases.

- Demonstrate how and when VAT is applied to non-UK transactions.

- Apply VAT within research projects.

- Describe how and when to request zero-rated VAT certificates.

Who should attend this course:

Any member of staff who deals with finance and who encounters VAT in the performance of their role.
