Grand Challenges 2018

Kenny the Charmeleon

This group identified that the worldwide prevalence of mental health conditions in children is on the rise, and aimed to help children aged between 11 and 14 years of age to process their thoughts, emotions and feelings. They made an app, revolving around the "Kenny the Chameleon" mascot, which acts as a journal and encouraging teenage users to write about their thoughts and feelings, in a confidential and private means. Users are given prompts to guide them with filling out the journal and log their daily fluctuations of emotion to make them more aware of their mental health.

During the Grand Challenges week, this group made a website to outline the purpose and details of what the app entails, a research poster and a 3D-printed Kenny the Chameleon figurine.

Here is the group presentation which they presented on the Friday of Grand Challenges week.
