  • Help and support is available for you right now and is there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Reach out, as there are people ready to support you – you don’t have to struggle alone.
  • Remember too that feelings change over time and these can too, so you don’t have to decide anything right now. Why not wait and find out about the help and support that’s here for you?

If this is relevant to you, or you’re worried about someone else - please read our suicide support information.

If you have urgent concerns for a student who is suicidal and there is immediate threat to life contact the Emergency Services (999) and Estate Patrol on 01392 722222.

For further advice on urgent support please see the drop-down tabs above.

If you have current concerns for a student (not immediately life-threatening) please contact Wellbeing Services Welfare Team by completing the referral form. In this form you can share the situation, and leave a message stating you require a call back regarding a student of concern and who may be at risk. The Welfare team monitors these form responses between 9-5pm. Enquiries received after 5pm, at the weekends or on University closure days will not receive a response until the next working day.

A member of the team will get back to you in 2-3 hours. This service is available for both Exeter and Cornwall based colleagues, but Cornwall colleagues may require further direction to FxPlus Wellbeing Team.

We encourage all colleagues to do this, to enable adequate liaison and reassurance for you, and to ensure the student has accessed appropriate support services
