Module description
This module serves as the concluding stage of the MSc in Systems Thinking for Service Design and is designed to prepare apprentices for their End-Point Assessment (EPA), required for completion of the Level 6 Service Designer Apprenticeship. Participation in the EPA is mandatory once the MSc programme is complete. The assessment is administered by an independent End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) and comprises two distinct methods:?
- Assessment Method 1 (AM1): a Work-based Service Design Project Report accompanied by a Presentation and Q & A.?
- Assessment Method 2 (AM2): a Professional Discussion underpinned by the apprentice’s Portfolio of Evidence.?
As part of this module, all portfolio submissions must be formally reviewed and signed off by the Academic Mentor to confirm EPA readiness. The learning and assessment activities are structured to mirror the spoken elements of the EPA (Presentation and Q and A and professional discussion). As a basis for these assessments, the apprentice may use work used in previous modules (such as but not limited to Interventions 1 and 2). By engaging with these activities, apprentices will consolidate their knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) from across the programme and demonstrate their ability to integrate systems thinking approaches with ethical service design practice. Further detail on the EPA requirements is available in the official End-Point Assessment Plan for the Level 6 Service Designer Apprenticeship, published by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.?
