We’re excited to invite you to a hands-on Smartphone Photography and Social Media Masterclass with acclaimed Hong Kong-based photographer Ali Ghorbani, exclusively for University of Exeter alumni. Whether you're shooting for social media, capturing daily life, or just want to up your photo game, this interactive session will help you enhance your shots, all with your smartphone. 

This is an opportunity for alumni to join this highly popular course at a special University-subsidised rate of just HK$100 per place.

Just 30 places are available per event on a first-paid, first-served basis.

These workshops are being held on Wednesday 17 September and on Saturday 20 September. 

You're welcome to bring a guest, but please ensure they have also purchased a ticket. 
 
What you'll learn: 

  • Key composition and lighting elements used by pros and influencers
  • How to be a better storyteller and increase your social media engagement
  • The best apps for editing on your phone and an intro to editing techniques
  • Creative photography tips and tricks
  • How to create viral content, posting times, hashtags, and so on

Whether you're a complete beginner or a mobile photography enthusiast, want to build your personal brand, or try something new, this is a unique chance to learn directly from one of Hong Kong’s most respected creatives, and enjoy it with fellow Exeter grads. 

Just bring your smartphone – no extra gear required. IOS and android smartphones are welcome!

 

About Ali Ghorbani: 

Ali is an award-winning photographer who has worked with global brands including Porsche, Adobe, Disney, and Four Seasons. A veteran of over 30 countries, Ali was also an official photographer at the Hong Kong Rugby 7s and is a sought-after workshop leader for companies like Sun Life, Lan Kwai Fong Group, and The British Consulate. His career highlights include the 1996 Olympic Games, and photographing Hollywood & international celebrities such as Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey and Fan BingBing.
