From 24 November 2016: Dependants of Tier 4 students now need to show £680 per month for the duration of the student’s leave up to a maximum of 9 months. This is a change to the previous requirement where students needed to show £680 per month for the length of the course or 9 months, whichever was shorter.
From 6 April 2016: Students changing programme must now apply to renew their visas from home. If you have already changed programme prior to 6 April, this rule does affect you and you will have to apply for your visa extension at home, but you can do this at any suitable point before your current visa expires. If you wish to change programme after 6 April, you will need to return home to apply for your visa before the change of programme is processed and you should seek advice as soon as possible from the International Student Support Office by logging a SID enquiry through exehub. Students applying for visa extensions after previously repeating a year may also be affected by these changes.
