Research at the Medical School is characterised by excellence.
The University of Exeter Medical School has an excellent research reputation and you will find research integral to your studies here. Many students have the opportunity to join research groups as part of Special Study Units and they are also encouraged to develop links with our researchers by attending research seminars and exploring opportunities for research work during vacations.
Research at the Medical School is characterised by excellence. In each of our thematic areas we seek to carry out research across the entire spectrum from basic biomedical research through mechanistic studies to patient-centred research. Our research is focused in four main areas:
Diabetes, Cardiovascular risk and Ageing
Diabetes and associated metabolic conditions are among the most important medical challenges facing the world today and we are particularly strong in this wide ranging area of research.
