Dialogues or Entanglements: Sino-British Interaction in Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism

Dialogues or Entanglements: Sino-British Interaction in Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism

Event details

In recent years British architects have been playing an increasingly significant role in Chinese architecture and city planning. Their works range from landmark buildings such as Terminal 3 at Beijing International Airport to master plans of many eco-cities such as 'Wanzhuang' in Langfang. Through critical analyses of selected projects, the workshop seeks a deeper understanding of how architectural interactions manifest and perform the interwoven relationships of economics, politics, and socio-environmental change between Britain and China. This workshop is organised by Dr Feng Qing (Tsinghua University) and Dr Yue Zhuang (University of Exeter) and sponsored by the Tsinghua-Exeter Fellowship.
