Molly's research – bridging Global Development Studies and Science and Technology Policy – focuses on the role of near-term synthetic biology applications in the emerging bioeconomy, implications to sustainable development, socio-ecological justice and transformations in agriculture and industrial production. She is particularly interested in the practice and concepts of ‘disruptive’, ‘sustainable’ and ‘responsible’ innovation, as well as how these notions are assimilated into multi-stakeholder deliberations and the global governance of emerging technologies.
As part of the South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC), Molly is supervised between the Environment & Sustainability Institute, University of Exeter & School of Geographical Sciences, University of Bristol.
Molly holds a Bachelors degree in International Development (first-class) from the University of Sussex, and a Master of Research (MRes) in Global Political Economy: Transformations and Policy Analysis (distinction) from the University of Bristol.
