Celebrating Ramadan 2026: Open Iftar

Ramadan Mubarak to all those celebrating and observing Ramadan this year.

 

Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan and the evening breaking of the fast is often done as a community. Come and break your fast or support your friends at this free community meal. The Islamic Society will lead prayers before the meal is served but participation in prayers is optional. 

 

The University and the Students' Guild are pleased to support the Islamic Society in leading this open Iftar. 

 

Meal will include:

  • Water and dates
  • Chicken Biriyani (halal) or Vegetable Biriyani (please chose when reserving your ticket)
  • Pudding

 

Doors open at 16.45 with last admittance at 17.30pm.

 

250 free tickets are available. We are cooking food to order based on tickets reserved so please, if you have reserved a ticket  do come. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.  

Reserve your free tickets for non Islamic Society members: Friday 30 January. 

Ticket deadline: 12 noon, Friday 20 February.

  • Reserve list: We will not be keeping a reserve list. If you would like to come but didn't get a ticket, please come to the Terrace at 17.00. we will allocate unused tickets at 17.30 to any students who arrive without tickets on a first come, first served basis. 
  • Refunding/cancelling tickets: if you need to cancel your ticket, please email the International Student Experience Team intstudentevents@exeter.ac.uk with as much notice before the event as possible. 
  • Accessability: The venue has full wheelchair access, basic seating, an accessible toilet, general car parking and blue badge parking.
