If you have been invited to interview you will have received an email from our PGCE Admissions team referring you to this page and the documents below. Please read the general documents relevant to the phase you are applying for (i.e. Primary or Secondary) along with any appropriate subject-specific document(s), where applicable.

Current University of Exeter students
We offer a guaranteed interview to University of Exeter finalists applying to one of our PGCE Primary or PGCE Secondary courses, providing you meet the entry requirements for the course.
Current Exeter students starting their teacher training course with us in September 2026 are also eligible to receive the University's Progression Scholarship.

- Video extract – This video will be played during the interview and you will be asked to complete a 20 minute written task in which you will be prompted to reflect on what you have seen. There will also be a group discussion during the morning based on this video extract. Please feel free to familiarise yourself with the video before you attend your interview.

Interview Dates for 2026/27 Recruitment cycle
We generally hold interviews on Wednesdays for primary and secondary PGCE interviews.
Our first interview day is scheduled for Wednesday 22 October 2025 and then we expect to hold interviews on most Wednesdays throughout the autumn, spring and summer terms.
The last interview dates for this recruitment cycle will be in August (specific dates will be confirmed nearer the time).
The majority of our interviews will be face-to-face interviews on the St Luke’s campus. On request, we can offer limited options for online interviews if circumstances make it difficult for you to attend in person - please contact the PGCE Admissions team if you would like to discuss an online interview as an option.
