- Hold or expect to attain a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training/experience in a relevant field before departure to the UK
We also accept scholars in receipt of Fulbright 'Open Awards' (also referred to as the All Disciplines Award).
How to apply
Applicants must apply to both the University and Fulbright separately. For this reason, it is recommended to make your University application prior to the opening of the Fulbright application portal. (If you are made a programme offer, the offer letter is the 'affiliation' letter required.)
The Fulbright US Student programme portal 'Embark' opens for new applications in April and closes in October, the year prior to scholars' intended start date. Fulbright then issue invitations for telephone interviews which are usually scheduled for the following February. Candidates receive the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of April after which Fulbright issue appropriate paperwork to the successful candidates in readiness for programmes starting in September / October. Further information about the application process is available on the Fulbright Commission website.
