Electric Charging Bays

A total of 30 electric charging bays are installed on Car Park B on Streatham Campus, available to any permit holders with an e-mail address (which includes third parties working on our campus) and pre-arranged visitors. If you are a permit holder you can register with Pod Point who manage our chargers and then log in with their app. Visitors wishing to use the chargers can do so if they display a visitors permit issued from the department they are visiting.

Ten of the bays are currently reserved for electric cars only when they are actively charging. These bays are marked up green in the car park.  The additional 20 electric charging bays are open for charging but anyone with a parking permit can park in the bays at any time. The reserved spaces will be extended as demand for the electric charging bays increases in the coming years.

How to use the electric charging bays?

The electric charging bays are provided by an external company called Pod Point.  The points are easy to use. All people need to do is download an app on their phone, load it with money and plug in their car.

There are simple instructions on the point screens for people to follow.

Here is a Electric Charging Bays user guide to help you get started.

What is the charge price?

The price to charge a car is 20p per kW hour. The electric charging bays can charge a typical electric car from empty to full in under 8 hours.
