Casual Jobs and Internships Fair

‌Wednesday 5th October, 2021  11-2pm - VIA Handshake - Free

University of Exeter - Casual Jobs and Internships Fair

The Casual Jobs and Internships Fair is a great way to meet and find talented students looking for part-time work and to fill your current and future vacancies. It is also an ideal way to advertise your vacancies and business to new students on campus as it is the first recruitment fair of 2021 and open to employers looking for students from our Devon or Cornwall campuses for part time, summer or internship opportunties.

The University of Exeter has students who are award-winning, exceptional employees and over 10,000 are looking for work experience and casual employment. The fair is open to a range of exhibitors from a variety of sectors offering internships and part-time work, vacation jobs as well as other casual employability training opportunities. Please note this is not suitable for volunteering opportunities.

Bookings are now open for 2021. Please see further below if you wish to book on.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The University remains committed to ensuring the safety of those participating in our events. Whilst we are now taking bookings for this fair, we are closely monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and will advise should we have to make any changes to our programme.

Due to the precautionary measure of reducing staffing on campus, the Employer Events Team will not be in the office for the foreseeable future. Our office phone lines will not be answered during this period but the team are working remotely so should you have any questions, please email and we will get in touch as soon as possible. Please be aware that during these exceptional circumstances, there may be a delay in responding to enquiries and we thank you in advance for your patience.

We are using Handshake for our virtual fair. If you are not already registered on Handshake, we encourage you to register here at your earliest convenience and start posting any new roles you have. You will need to be registered to attend our fair.

Several Universities are now using Handshake including Cambridge, Liverpool, York, Sheffield Hallam and UWE, making it easy for employers to distribute their advert to Handshake partners with one upload.

To register and book onto the Casual Jobs and Internship Fair please click on the "register" link from the Event page to request a space at our fair.

You will be able to create your own schedule including:

  • Sharing your values and documentation with students ahead of the fair
  • Video, audio and chat communication with students
  • A maximum of 12 x 30 minute group sessions during the fair
  • 1:1 student meetings scheduled in advance of or after a group session

All booking forms will be reviewed within 15 working days of submission by the Casual Job Services Team and if successful you will receive a confirmation email with details of how to pay online. Once payment has been confirmed you will be approved to join the fair and you will have access to build your virtual fair schedule.

If you have technical queries about the booking process you can log a ticket by visiting - and select 'Help' or 'Contact Support' where a member of the Handshake support team will be happy to assist you.

This year, due to the impact on many part time roles and companies during 2020, the event is free for all exhibitors to attend.

Cancellation must be received in writing by emailing by  September 1st 2021

If you cancel your booking after September 1st 2021 or fail to attend the Fair, regardless of reason, we may ask for payment to cover incurred costs.
