Mail Room

Mail Room

Mail Room

The Mail Room supports both Exeter campuses and links with the Penryn campus. The team support the majority of inbound/outbound mail and parcels for the university staff.

Standard mail

Inbound: All standard mail is delivered daily to your building's central delivery point.
Please refer to the Building Central Delivery point section.

Outbound: Royal Mail's last collection from the Old Library is now 3:30pm each day (Monday to Friday). For building collection times please click here and the last time for delivering mail to us for same day posting is 3:15pm.

In addition, the Mail Room is working with the Climate Emergency Team and Green Awards initiative to reduce the vast amount of hard copy magazines received over the course of the last 16 months. We are hoping to change behaviours and request that colleagues:

  • Where possible, amend your subscriptions to your home address.
  • Consider the following options: Opt to receive digital information rather than paper based, e-billing
  • Un-subscribe from current brochures/magazines that get posted & go unread
  • Sign up to the free Mail Preference Service to stop unsolicited mail

Tracked Deliveries

All Tracked Deliveries are held at the Central Mailroom automatically.

Currently there are two options for retrieving your delivery.

1. Please book a time slot using the C&C link https://spa.exeter.ac.uk/chronos/cc/ (Click the green “Mail Room Collections” button)
2. Alternatively, you can have your item delivered by filling in a 'Move It’ request, to find out the central delivery point for your building Click here, for instructions on filling in a move it form please refer to Move it guide.

St Luke’s

There is a daily delivery/collection to St Luke’s before 12:00 each day.

Penryn/Truro Intercampus Courier

This service is available, Tuesdays & Thursdays during term, Wednesdays only out of term. Items need to be with the Mail Room by 10.30am the day of collection. For all items that are not standard mail or small parcels, please complete a ‘move it’ request form.

Move it request

https://www.exeter.ac.uk/campushelp/porterage/moveitrequest/  (Select the earliest date the calendar allows. Your request will be booked in for the first available date, unless you state a specific date/time)

  1. Collection and drop off on campus (C&C)
This is the preferred option. Please book a time slot using the C&C link on the right hand side to collect from us or drop off mail to us.
  2. Delivery/collection (on campus)
If you are on campus, but unable to use C&C, please complete a ‘move it’ request form using the link to the right hand side.
  3. Delivery/collection (off campus less than 10 miles)
If you are still working from home, and live within 10 miles, we would ask that you book via C&C and come to site. If this is not practical, please use the ‘move it’ request form. We will deliver to and collect directly from your home.
  4. Delivery/collection (off campus more than 10 miles)
Please email mailroom@exeter.ac.uk providing your home address. Items will be sent to you either by Royal Mail or ParcelForce. We can also provide remote collection from your home address back to campus, or onwards for standard mail/parcel items. Please contact us for more details.
