Sophie Binder (she/her)
Learning and Development Manager (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion)
Usual working pattern: Monday - Friday
Email: S.Binder@exeter.ac.uk
I co-deliver the bystander intervention training, engaging students and staff in conversations around the strategies and approaches that can be taken to make Exeter University a more inclusive organisation.
I have a background that includes and explores English literature, philosophy, psychometrics and counselling, the foundation of which has always been a real passion for people. Understanding others and supporting growth. An important part of this is creating safe places for learning; about self, others and the world in which we live. I strongly believe in providing environments that best encourage, enable and empower people to flourish. Learning and Development as a function provides the integral principles for this and as such, has been the golden thread of all my previous roles. Top highlights have included working for the Natural History Museum and Guide Dogs for the Blind Association in various Learning and Development roles with a more recent focus on Volunteering vision and strategy.
