Attendance and Engagement - Advice & Support

We want to help you to fully take part in your studies and understand that there are many reasons why you are not able to. Please get in touch with the support services that are available to help you. We’ve helped other students before and really want to help you too.

Digital Check-in

For more information about how to check in and for support with any technical issues, please visit the Digital Hub.

Health or Personal

If you need support for a health or personal problem, you can talk in confidence to the Education Welfare Team:

Contact for students in Cornwall

If you are based in Exeter and need on-going support with your studies, you can contact your pastoral mentor or pastoral tutor (for PGR students) in the first instance, who can provide onward referral to specialist teams, such as Education Welfare, if needed.

If you are already receiving support from the Education Welfare Team, under the Health, Wellbeing and Support for Studies (HWSS) process, please contact them directly by email for further advice.

If you have a long term health condition and/or disability which affects your attendance, what should you do?

The first thing is not to worry of you are not able to attend all teaching sessions and check in.  Please remember to check in to as many sessions as you can.  You will always receive an email offering advice and support if your attendance does drop below the expected level.

If your health condition/disability means that you are not able to attend for more than one day, you should report this using the report an absence link in the MyDay tab of the MyExeter app.   If you are unable to attend for a week or more, please contact the Education Welfare Team in Devon or Cornwall who will be able to advise you.

Please also see the University’s support page for those with health conditions and/or disabilities.
